HGES PARENT NEWS 

(FALL 2021)

We are off to a GREAT start at HGES and we are thrilled you blessed us with the opportunity to once again work with your greatest asset…your child. J  Each Tuesday your child will bring home his/her ‘Tuesday Folder’ where you’ll see the work for the prior week along with grades received.  You’ll also be able to see any discipline notes, so this is a great tool to keep you informed.  Be looking for it each week.  Some primary teachers send their folders home daily, so check those backpacks on a regular basis.  Another great tool to keep up with grades is by using the HAC (Home Access Center) webpage on our school’s website.  If you haven’t already received your username and password, ask your child’s teacher about it.  It’s a wonderful way that allows you to see attendance/tardies, averages in each class, discipline reports, etc.

Below are some important dates you may want to mark on your calendars.  As always, we are super excited about working with your child and if we can help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to ask.  We are a TEAM at HG and by working together, we can ALL help your child to grow into the best person he/she can be!!!  We’re ready!

SEPTEMBER

September 6:  No School/Labor Day

September 13:  Progress Reports Go Home!

September 21:  School Picture Day

September 20-24:  Celebrate Freedom Week!!!

OCTOBER

October 15:  End 1^st 9 Weeks

October 15:  Flu Shot Clinic in the HG Auditorium

October 18:  Fall Break (NO SCHOOL)

October 19:  Parent/Teacher Conferences (1:30-7:00) Report Cards given at conferences. School will dismiss at 1:10.

October 19-22:  National School Bus Safety Week

October 22:  HOMECOMING!!!  Show that Hornet Pride!

October 25-29:  Red Ribbon Week (say “NO” to drugs)

NOVEMBER

November 1-5: Arkansas History Week for K-2^nd Grades

November 2: Elementary Picture Re-takes

November 15:  Fall Break (No School)

November 22-26:  Thanksgiving Break (No School) Give THANKS with a grateful heart!

DECEMBER

December 22: White Christmas program (HG Arena): Time 9:30 a.m. – Parents sit on home side opposite elementary students.  

December 22:  End 2^nd 9 Weeks; End 1^st Semester

December 23-January 5:  Christmas Vacation (No School)

(School resumes on THURSDAY, January 6, 2022 at 7:50 a.m.)
