About Stephanie Harmon

FamilyMrs. Stephanie Harmon was born and raised in Sparkman, Arkansas. The daughter of Richard and Rosemary (Givens) Walker, she graduated from Sparkman High School in 2002. Stephanie attended Southern Arkansas University Tech and received her Associates of Arts Degree with emphasis in Childhood Education in 2004.

Upon transferring to Henderson State University, Stephanie became active in the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and as a representative for the Student Arkansas Educator Association. During this time, she also studied the Spanish Language at Centro Pan-Americano de Idiomas language immersion school in Heredia, Costa Rica for two summer terms. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Henderson in 2006 with her Bachelors of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education with a Spanish minor. Continuing her education at Henderson, Stephanie graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Masters of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on English as a Second Language in 2008. In the same year, Stephanie married Brady Harmon, and she was also hired for her dream job as a teacher at Sparkman Elementary. She has taught both third and fourth grades at Sparkman. 

With her passion for continued learning, Stephanie embarked on a new educational journey in 2011: her pursuit for national board certification. After this rigorous process to advance the quality of her teaching and learning, she was rewarded by receiving her certification and is an honored National Board Certified Teacher, and a valued member of the Harmony Grove School District faculty.
